Hi everyone,

Welcome to the Language Department's "Top Teen Review".

Here you can post reviews from books you have read or are reading. If you want other people to enjoy what you read, enrich their lives or simply share your opinions about a novel, a short story, etc.

This is your space; you are free to speak your mind, but you have to be polite and respect the readers, so please do not use swear words, okay?

As I said, these are reviews, not discussion forums...but if you want to share your experience with a same novel or another material feel free.

Best regards,

Cecilia Flores

P.D. YOU CAN WRITE IN SPANISH TOO!

  3. THE CATCHER IN THE RYE: At first, I thought it would be cool to read this book, since my siter loved it. We had already read the first 5 chapters and I think that the author gives too many details about the principal character´s life and because of this, sometimes the lecture turns kind of boring. I also hate the vocabulary used by the author, it is complicated and he use a lot of idioms. I hope this book becomes better as chapters pass by. Ankelin Diaz

  4. In this 3 chapters I get more involved with the book because it starts telling you all the procedure to make the Animal Farm succeed. The victory of the animals vs. Mr. Jones, the 7 commandments, the fear of the others farmers, and the new innovations of the windmill and the disagreements between Snowball and Napoleon. The Farm is becoming into something that all animals didn't want. In my opinion the book is very interesting, but I hope everything turns out well (:

  6. Tha Catcher in the Rye is a book that describes the life of Holden; a guy who thinks every adult around him are phony and act to satisfy their priorities. I have read until the 5th chapter and I think Holden is a boy who has psycological problems mainly because of his brother's dead, during the first chapters he shows no interest on school and he's always complaining about others. You can also infer that he's afraid to love, because he's afraid of loosing the ones he care about. Until now I think it is an interesting book and I'm curious about what will happen with Holden's life.

  10. THE CATCHER IN THE RYE: When we started to read this book I thought it was going to be really boring until my sister told me that someone told her that the guy that killed John Lennon had read this book before killing him, this book was supposedly the reason he became crazy. Instantly I became really interested to find out what was on that book that drived him so crazy.

At the beginning of the reading I didn't fully understood what did the writer wanted to say, it was very confusing and he rambled a lot. Little by little I started to understand and know more about the principal character (Holden) and his life.

It is a very descriptive book so you can easily imagine what is happening in the story, I personally think this book has a very easy reading, and I strongly recommend it.

We haven't finished the book yet, but I can't wait to find out what will happen next.

  11. The Catcher in the Rye: During the book the narrator that is also the main character in the story talks about his life at that moment, he speaks mainly negatively but with a lot of detail, he mentions the way his friends are, the way his professor is and also about his brother which is almost from the only person that he speaks well. I think it is an interesting book because it makes you wonder what will happen next I am curious about what will happen next in the story.

This is a very interesting book. i like the idea of how the animals want to reveal. How they want to became independent, they don't to depend on humans anymore, they want to be free. The thing that most intrigue me is that at nights the animals become with other personalities. At day they are just typical animals doing what they have to do, but at night they become this animals with the hunger of liberty and freedom. We can see that their leader is old major and the look up for him. But at his death, rumors and confusions start to develop. Also the disagreement that there is between snowball and Napoleon, and how the animals want to get rid off humans, and how is that the others farmers are afraid of their animals that they react the same way. This is an excellent book, that i enjoyed reading, and its very well developed and written.

  15. Catcher in the rye: i really like this book, although it have certain modals and word that i don't know it's meaning, you can certainly understand the book. It is very interesting the life of Holden, he is certainly a madman and he always speaks very rare and always complains about everything. i think Holden have some type of physiological problem, since the talks rare, complains about everything and flunk all the courses in the school, except English. i think that he fought well the death of his little brother, but it can be an effect of his bad attitude.

  16. The book twilight is so interesting, because it contains action, fights, suspense and one of the things that i like the most is that it contains love between a couple that cant be together because one of them is a vampire. I love the book!
